How the Renewal Ledger Works
Our platform operates on a strict local-first architecture. We replace manual spreadsheet transcription with deterministic in-browser document reconciliation.
1. In-Browser Document Processing Pipeline
When you select a PDF file, your browser uses an in-memory instance of pdfjs-dist. Text strings and page coordinates are extracted locally. No file packets are transmitted over the internet.
Carrier-specific terminology (e.g. "BI Liab" vs "Bodily Injury", or "250/500/100" vs "$250,000/$500,000") is standardized into strict canonical data structures with source-page citations.
Values are compared line-by-line using rule-based comparison. Every field is assigned one of four objective states: Changed, Unchanged, Needs Confirmation, or Not Detected.
The billing engine reconciles stated policy term premiums against the sum of scheduled installments, administrative fees, down payments, and credits to flag unexplained payment schedule differences.
The Zero-Telemetry Privacy Commitment
Files are read into browser memory via FileReader and ArrayBuffer APIs. There is no upload endpoint.
We operate no user databases or cloud document repositories. Resetting your session clears memory instantly.
Exported markdown reports and print formats automatically redact full VIN numbers, addresses, and policy numbers.
2. Safe & Factual Language Policy
Auto Insurance Renewal Ledger strictly avoids subjective diagnosis, speculative rate explanations, and unlicensed insurance advice.
| Scenario | Approved Factual Phrasing | Prohibited Speculative Copy |
|---|---|---|
| Premium increases with identical visible coverages | "The provided documents show a higher stated premium with no detected visible coverage change." | "Your carrier raised your price for no reason." |
| Deductible difference found | "The documents show the collision deductible changed from $500 to $1,000. Confirm this matches your intended selection." | "You are underinsured." |
| Field absent on declaration summary | "Roadside assistance was not detected in the supplied renewal summary. Verify with insurer." | "Roadside coverage was removed." |
